Trader Joe’s Just Announced 19 Exciting New & Returning Fall Items

In a recent episode of the Inside Trader Joe’s podcast, marketing leaders Tara Miller and Matt Sloan unveiled some of the most intriguing goods that will be available this autumn.

This includes returning popular items as well as brand-new products that customers will be able to try for the first time.

Just keep in mind that Miller and Sloan did not cover every single fall product that customers may see in stores this year, so check out your local Trader Joe’s for any additional great fall goods that are currently available.

Here are the 19 new and returning food items featured in the most recent Inside Trader Joe’s episode.

Mini maple-flavored marshmallows.

These Mini Maple-Flavored Marshmallows are a new vegan item from Trader Joe’s that adds a fall touch to a basic marshmallow.

Miller and Sloan suggested putting them on top of a cup of hot cocoa or replacing regular marshmallows in a batch of crispy rice treats.

This item hit stores in early September, however it will only be available for a limited time.

Double-Fold Bourbon Vanilla Extract

Not to be mistaken with Trader Joe’s Organic Pure Bourbon Vanilla Extract, the new Double Fold Bourbon Vanilla Extract is a more rich and strong version of the classic baking ingredient.

Not only does Trader Joe’s supplier utilize twice as much vanilla in this extract, but it is also fortified with real vanilla bean seeds.

The new vanilla extract, which comes in 3.55-ounce bottles, is currently available in Trader Joe’s stores. It will be available for a short time, while supplies last.

Wicked Delicious Mini Chocolate Bars

After years of consumer requests, Trader Joe’s is finally releasing its own Halloween candy variety. The new Wicked Good Mini Chocolate Bars are available in 24-piece packs of four flavors: nougat, nougat & caramel, peanut & caramel, and caramel & wafer.

These should have already arrived in stores, so stock up while you can.

Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese, one of Trader Joe’s most popular and requested fall recipes, returned to stores this week, much to the pleasure of shoppers.

Miller stated that when they first introduced the product in 2017, they did not anticipate it becoming the success that it is now.

To accommodate the huge demand, Trader Joe’s plans to deliver more packets of the popular item than ever before in 2023, according to Sloan.

Organic Bourbon Barrel Aged Vermont Maple Syrup.

This return product isn’t your typical maple syrup. Despite its name, Organic Bourbon Barrel Aged Vermont Maple Syrup contains no alcohol, but it does have bourbon-like undertones from the repurposed barrels in which it is aged.

Pour it over pancakes, or, as Sloan and Miller suggested, drizzle it over vanilla ice cream or use it as a ham glaze. The item is already available at Trader Joe’s shops.

Fall Harvest Salsa

This perennial favorite is a fun fall spin on a traditional salsa. The Fall Harvest Salsa combines fire-roasted tomatillos, honey-roasted pumpkin pieces, diced butternut squash, jalapeños, chopped sweet apples, honey, vinegar, and lime.

Miller and Sloan suggested pairing it with chips or getting inventive and topping fish or pork tenderloin.

Gluten-free Pumpkin Ravioli

Trader Joe’s has sold a famous Pumpkin Ravioli every fall for years, but this year the store is now providing a gluten-free version.

The new Gluten Free Pumpkin Ravioli is made with gluten-free pasta and pumpkin purée, kabocha squash, a blend of three cheeses, honey, brown sugar, and numerous fall spices. Miller suggested that this option would appeal to clients who prefer “a more savory take on a pumpkin ravioli.”

Honeycrisp Apple Granola

Apples are the key component in some of the most traditional fall meals, like apple pie and apple cider donuts. Trader Joe’s new Honeycrisp Apple Granola departs from conventional apple fall snacks by showcasing the fruit.

Rolled oats, dried Honeycrisp apple slices, cane sugar, honey, molasses, and different fall spices are among the ingredients. This item has already been discovered in stores, however it will be available for a limited time.

Maple-flavored fudge

Maple Flavored Fudge isn’t a new concept, but it’s new to Trader Joe’s! These confections are made by an English supplier using salted butter, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and maple syrup, all cooked in classic copper pans.

The podcast hosts suggested mixing the fudge with a savory food to counteract the sweetness. This limited-edition item has already been seen in stores.

Cinnamon Sugar Toffee Trio

This new fall-themed candy was created by the same source that makes Trader Joe’s English Toffee.

The Cinnamon Sugar Toffee Trio consists of pieces of buttery, crispy toffee coated in milk, dark, or white chocolate, as well as cinnamon sugar. Sloan described it as a “snickerdoodle take on a toffee candy.”

The podcast hosts did not specify when the product will be available in stores, so keep a watch out for its launch!

12 miniature pumpkin ginger scones.

This new item is available in the frozen aisle rather than the baked goods section at your local Trader Joe’s. The 12 Mini Pumpkin Ginger Scones derive their namesake flavors from pumpkin purée and candied ginger.

They arrive ready to bake, so you can throw a few in the oven whenever you want a delicious fall baked item. This limited edition item has already appeared on Trader Joe’s shelves.

Avocado Ranch Salad Kit

Trader Joe’s refrigerated aisle will soon feature a new salad. According to Sloan, the Avocado Ranch Salad kit includes chopped vegetables, corn chips, cheese, “crunchy bits,” and avocado ranch dressing.

While the salad can be eaten as is, the podcasters suggested making it a complete dinner by adding chicken, beef, or even tofu.

All-Butter Sugar Cookie Dough

Trader Joe’s is keeping things simple with its new All-Butter Sugar Cookie Dough. According to Miller, the components are limited to flour, sugar, butter, water, eggs, vanilla essence, vanilla bean, leavening, and sea salt—making it strikingly comparable to what you could create at home. This limited edition item should be in stores right now.

Garlic and Asiago Cheese Dip.

Unlike previous Trader Joe’s dips, which are meant to be consumed cold, this new dip is intended to be enjoyed hot.

Miller described it as “delightfully cheesy,” and Sloan compared it to “all the goodness of garlic bread as a dip.” Customers can expect to find it in stores before the end of September.

Chocolate Hazelnut Ground Coffee

If you’re looking for a hot cup of coffee to go with one of your seasonal Trader Joe’s delights, try the new Chocolate Hazelnut Ground Coffee.

The provider sources 100% Arabica coffee beans from a well-known coffee-growing region in Brazil, softly roasts them, and then utilizes natural flavor oil to add chocolate and hazelnut undertones. The new coffee has already started to arrive in retailers.

Roasted Hatch Chili with Jalapeño Cheese Dip.

The new Roasted Hatch Chili and Jalapeño Cheese Dip, similar to the Garlic and Asiago Cheese Dip, is best savored hot.

Despite the presence of sliced and chopped jalapeños, Miller and Sloan found the dip to be moderately hot. This item is expected to arrive in retailers in early to mid-October.

Halloween Gummies

After a multi-year absence due to production challenges, Trader Joe’s Halloween Gummies are returning for the 2023 fall season.

Miller described them as “soft, juicy, and full of flavor.” The hosts did not indicate when the Halloween Gummies would be back on shelves, but given that Halloween is only about a month away, it shouldn’t take too long.

Organic Maple Vinaigrette Dressing

The Organic Maple Vinaigrette Dressing, which returns, allows shoppers to taste the savory side of those traditional fall maple flavors.

The condiment combines apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, orange juice, and a dash of organic maple syrup to make a sweet, savory, and extremely adaptable vinaigrette.

Sloan emphasized the dressing’s versatility, stating that it works well as a marinade or as a flavor enhancer in a stir fry.

Organic Clove Powder

Trader Joe’s already incorporates this toasty fall spice into several of its seasonal offerings, but you can also purchase a jar for your personal baking needs this season.

While ground cloves can be found year-round in most major grocery stores, Trader Joe’s Organic Clove Powder is only available during the season.

The podcast hosts did not indicate whether the Organic Clove Powder was available in shops yet, so any interested buyers should keep an eye out for it on their next Trader Joe’s trip.
